Back after a hiatus. Here's the progress on my 1986 Honda Shadow 700. A lot of universal parts fit it.
Since I went down three or four months ago, I finally have acceptable lights: front and rear LED marker lights. The headlight is the same, but I plan to upgrade it.

Air filter changed. One bolt was stripped, which was a huge hassle. You pop out a little insert in the cap; the whole cap doesn't come off. An Allen wrench fits in there. The front one was easy. The back one was stripped with no way out, so I had to finagle the front out and drop the filter out.
Passenger pegs: universal mounts didn't work on this Shadow. I bought OEM pegs secondhand on eBay for about 20 bucks, swapped the bolts over, and now I have backup plates and good pegs.

The LED wiring is my pride and joy. More upgrades to come.
